Core Tax
In Tax, you'll assist clients ranging from large organisations to budding entrepreneurs and high-net-worth individuals in managing tax risk, understanding obligations, and complying with complex legislation. Your work will encompass a variety of tasks, including multinational advisory projects, mergers and acquisitions advice, tax compliance, and researching business issues affecting clients' tax affairs. You’ll engage with clients on critical business matters, such as interpreting developments in case law, understanding the implications of expanding into new territories, or introducing new products. Your role may involve working on purely UK-based activities or participating in global projects, improving internal processes, or contributing to mergers and acquisitions.
What you'll do
Our Core Tax graduate programme offers a comprehensive experience by rotating across our Direct and Indirect Tax teams during your first two years at PwC. In your third year, you'll specialise in a specific area of our Tax practice.
**Direct Tax:**
In this team, you’ll help clients manage tax risk and navigate complex legislation. Our clients range from FTSE 100 companies and global organisations to budding entrepreneurs, high-net-worth individuals, and family businesses.
**Indirect Tax:**
In this practice, you could be involved in a variety of tasks, from advising on the VAT implications of UK activities to participating in global projects focused on supply chains. You may also consider the impact of case law developments or advise on mergers and acquisitions.
What you'll gain
By completing the programme, you'll have the opportunity to be considered for a Summer Internship 2026 role in the same location and business area. Many of our summer interns go on to receive graduate role offers. Current graduates in this business area are studying to become Chartered Accountants with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) or the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS), although this may be subject to change in future years.
What you'll need
You’ll need to be on track to pass an undergraduate degree or higher in any subject. We assess your progress based on the grades from your most recent completed academic year. You should be either: - A first-year undergraduate student on a three-year degree course, or - A second-year undergraduate student on a four-year degree course.
When to apply
Once you have submitted your application you'll have seven days to complete the online test, this is the first stage of our recruitment process.
Applications for this role may close early should we receive a high volume of interest so we recommend prompt application to avoid disappointment.
