JOB DESCRIPTION

About the role: 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trust Manager to act as a trusted advisor to professional trustees and beneficiaries in relation to predominantly UK family trust structures, albeit some international tax knowledge would be welcomed. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining close contact with all stakeholders, advising trustees on available income, forecasting income and expenses, liaising with investment advisors, and managing general trust administration. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, a good understanding of risk management, and the ability to problem-solve effectively.

What your days will look like:

  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the central communication point, maintaining regular contact with stakeholders and resolving queries sensitively.
  • Trust Technical: Possess a strong understanding of UK trust taxation and trust tax law.
  • Advisory and Forecasting: Advise trustees on income distribution and forecast income, expenses, and distributions for multiple family trusts.
  • Review and Compliance: Ensure compliance by reviewing trust accounts, tax returns, and registers, and oversee charitable trust administration and governance.

This role is for you if:

  • Must possess a CTA / ACA / STEP Qualification, or hold an international equivalent
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including willingness to call for resolving queries and explaining requests.
  • Ability to handle sensitive interactions and maintain professional relationships.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and efficient decision-making skills.
  • Practical knowledge of trust and individual taxation, with an understanding of risk management principles.
  • Experience reviewing financial documents, ensuring tax compliance, liaising with investment advisors, and managing trust accounts.
