Life Actuary - Senior Associate
About the role
The PwC Actuarial practice comprises over 300 partners and staff. With offices in London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Bristol and Mumbai, our consultants focus on life, non-life, banking and non-insurance, led by a 20-strong partner team. This makes us the largest actuarial practice within the large accounting firms. We play the leading role in the 1000+ strong actuarial community in PwC worldwide and often work with specialists from other disciplines within PwC. We are seeking a Life actuarial senior associate. You will be working with our UK insurance clients across a range of propositions including finance transformation, regulatory and reporting, modelling and audit. You'll be open to new challenges, self-motivated, agile and be able to leverage your existing skills in new areas.
What your days will look like:
- You’ll work as part of a team to deliver a wide range of actuarial assignments.
- You’ll be responsible for presenting and supporting your analyses to more senior members of the project team.
- You’ll interact with clients on matters related to day-to-day project activities.
- You’ll have the opportunity to work in multidisciplinary teams or with people from our network firms overseas.
- You’ll be responsible for preparing client presentations and deliverables.
- You’ll be involved in the development of more junior staff through on the job coaching, or as a study mentor.
This role is for you if:
- At least two year’s experience working within Life market either directly or gained via consultancy experience.
- Experience of profit and capital reporting
- Experience of cashflow and/or capital modelling for Life insurance products.
- Experience of working on change programmes such as finance change initiatives or programmes involving the deployment of technology solutions.
- Be able to communicate complex technical matters clearly.
- Wider commercial awareness, including the understanding of wider business issues facing the insurance industry.
- Good progress to date with actuarial examinations.
