About the role

Join PwC's National Innovation and Capital Incentives (ICI) team as a Listed & Inbound R&D Manager, where innovation meets exceptional client service. You'll guide clients through UK R&D tax incentives, including Research & Development reliefs, Patent Box claims, and Capital Allowances. We're seeking candidates with substantial R&D tax experience or a science/tech background adept at producing robust documentation for tax credit claims. Ideal candidates are proactive and responsible, eager to engage with diverse businesses. This role offers a fast-paced environment that values creativity and excellence. Make a significant impact and help businesses grow through innovation.

What your days will look like:

  • Managing client engagements and leading workshops with clients to brief them fully on the R&D incentives regime, taking responsibility for managing the input of the client technical teams to facilitate the quantification of the claims and managing the preparation of supporting documentation, developing strong relationships with both our clients and internal stakeholders
  • Oversight of the R&D claim preparation, including ensuring R&D eligibility assessments are appropriately reflected in the quantification of the claim
  • Advising clients and internal stakeholders on tax technical and accounting issues in relation to the R&D incentive regimes and upcoming changes
  • Supervising juniors undertaking the work and appraising more senior stakeholders of progress

This role is for you if you have:

  • UK R&D tax incentive regimes including a good understanding of the upcoming regime changes
  • Strong project management skills - able to manage several live projects at once and planning your own workload.
  • Excellent communication skills - the candidate will be expected to be a key point of contact on the projects they manage, supporting a range of stakeholders including client contacts, PwC staff in the incentives team and also in the wider tax practice.
  • Coaching and delegation - the successful candidate will help other Managers and Senior Managers in the team coach and delegate to a team of associates supporting the ICI team, helping them grow their technical expertise alongside their soft skills.

What you’ll receive from us:

No matter where you may be in your career or personal life, our benefits are designed to add value and support, recognising and rewarding you fairly for your contributions.

We offer a range of benefits including empowered flexibility and a working week split between office, home and client site; private medical cover and 24/7 access to a qualified virtual GP; six volunteering days a year and much more.
