About the role:
This role offers an exciting opportunity to join and help lead a growing team in the dynamic Pensions Risk Transfer space.
You will work within a close-knit group of approximately 30 specialists in Pensions Risk Transfer, and be part of a larger team comprising around 220 professionals with diverse backgrounds in actuarial, investment, administration, governance, and project management. In this position, you will spearhead projects aimed at delivering innovative strategic solutions to solve complex problems and transfer pension risk for clients. The role offers exposure to a wide range of clients, including both Corporate and Trustee organisations, many of which are large multinational entities. You will have the chance to engage in all facets of Pensions Risk Transfer work, such as buy-ins, buy-outs, and capital-backed journey plans, giving you the flexibility to steer your career toward traditional transactions, alternative options, or entirely new solutions.
Additionally, you will collaborate closely with professionals from Covenant Advisory, Legal, Reward and Employment specialists, and our Risk Modelling Services (RMS) team. This holistic approach ensures that you will gain a comprehensive understanding of risk transfer processes while contributing to cutting-edge solutions for high-profile clients.
What your days will look like:
Proactively lead a portfolio of clients and build a pipeline of future clients for the team.
Help drive the future strategy for the team, whilst building or expanding your own network of contacts through regular attendance at internal and external meetings.
Sign off on high-quality, technically accurate client deliverables, including FCA regulated advice.
Establish effective working relationships with individuals internally and maintain strong relationships with insurers, Professional Independent Trustees, and other advisers externally.
Lead meetings and take responsibility for the financial management of your portfolio of clients.
Contribute to the development of personal and team knowledge, including coaching junior members of our team, and be prepared for some travel and occasional overnight stays.
Stay up-to-date with changes in law, topical issues in the industry, and the firm's products and services.
This role is for you if:
Significant experience in UK pensions with a background in actuarial advisory, insurance, or reinsurance
Proven expertise in Pensions Risk Transfer work, leading transactions between insurers and clients
Demonstrated ability in drafting RFPs, winning new projects, and developing client relationships
Established relationships with insurers and Professional Independent Trustees
FCA approval (preferred)
Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
Strong self-motivation and passion for growing a business
